DanceXR 2026.7 Release Notes

DanceXR 2026.7 is about characters that hold together and stand on their own: a major overhaul of PMX model physics that resolves long-standing issues, steadier soft-body physics that keeps its shape, feet that truly settle on the floor, and freer posing with direct control over the torso and seated poses. It also clears up a batch of motion and FBX issues many of you reported — and adds an early, experimental hand-grasp system along the way.

What is New

Better PMX model physics

  • A major overhaul of the PMX physics engine brings it in line with the reference MMD behavior, resolving a range of long-standing issues where rigid bodies and joints didn’t move or settle as they should.
  • Physics-driven bones now blend with their posed positions correctly, so hair, cloth, and accessories follow motion the way they’re meant to.
  • Collision handling is more robust — more colliders, wider shape support, and fixes that keep parts from passing through where they shouldn’t.

Steadier soft-body physics

  • A new shape-matching approach to soft bodies keeps cloth-like objects holding their shape far better, with smoother, more stable movement under motion.
  • Broader stability work across the simulation means fewer glitches and jitters as things move.

Feet that settle on the floor

  • Feet now plant on the ground physically, tilting and rolling to match the surface and keeping toes grounded.
  • Sliding is kept in check and over-stretched legs are handled gracefully, so footing stays believable as characters move and pose.

Freer posing

  • Guide the torso and waist directly for more natural, deliberate poses.
  • Lock the legs for seated and sitting poses, and keep the body from drifting or over-twisting as you work.
  • Foot adjustment is now available in free-pose mode, so hand-built poses land as cleanly as animated ones.

Motion and FBX fixes

  • Fixed a number of motion and FBX playback issues reported by users, for more reliable loading and cleaner results.
  • Improved motion-zip handling and reset-position behavior.

Calmer, more consistent physics

  • Fluids now behave the same at any size — small droplets no longer misbehave — and look consistent whether scaled up or down.
  • Added guards throughout the physics system so a single bad value can no longer corrupt a scene.

Experimental

Hand grasp (early preview)

  • A new grasp system lets fingers wrap around shapes on their own, adapting to what they touch and closing just far enough to hold without clipping through. You can dial how firmly a hand engages, with smooth transitions in and out.
  • This system is still maturing — expect rough edges as it develops, and treat it as a preview for now.

Also New

DanceXR on the web

  • DanceXR can now run in a web browser, loading content over the web, making it easier to try and share without an install.
